Everything new again

Wow. Changes. I think it's a little sad that what has me most excited is Dynamis of all things.

The changes seem kind of strange. We ended up opting for Jeuno after realizing there was 21+ people in Bastok, whereas Jeuno had 2. Easy decision. Upon entry there was a bit of shock when there was no statues. Just mobs up and sort-of roaming; Think a five-foot Leash on them where the statue used to be, mostly.

First pull was THF and BST. They checked EP, because Dynamis mobs are now EXP mobs. Standard operating procedure: Pull mobs, sleep mobs, fight THF to PD, kill BST, kill THF, kill pet. That's where the first surprise came from.

The pets depop when you kill the master. This is welcome.

We went left from the entrance instead of up the steps because why not? That's where we got shock number two.

Mobs are not true sound. I ran clear up to a goblin, expecting to aggro, and he just kept facing the other direction.

Clearing directly left into the corner/embassy area there's a Time Extension. These statues are reportedly truesound, but they have so little HP it doesn't matter. The TE is 10 minutes and in the form of a Temporary Key Item so you can only claim it once. Statues respawn, as do the normal mobs. This is where we got reminder/shock 3.

The semi-roaming MNK NM there WILL kill your ass with HF. We partially wiped there, shamefully. My fault.

He also dropped a... stone of some sort that ended up in my pocket. It's presumed to be a pop item for the REAL NMs of the zone. Slightly more on that later.

We killed around a little more, dropped a pair of NMs and wandered towards the Archduke's house. This is where things got complicated.

One, it's dark in there. Two, goblins don't necessarily stay away from corners. Running in like a cocky bunch of gentlemen we ended up with slightly more than we could chew. My fault. That's when we realized shock number four: These monsters are all Tough, not EP. It got slightly better from there, too:

There's an NM upstairs/on the steps who will aggro. He happens to be a RNG, I think. He will aggro mobs that are slightly roaming upstairs. They will link with the upstairs. The house is not safe to fight in, not with a tiny group like we used.

We wiped in a corner, miserable. That's when we found out Incorrect Text #1.

Despite the dialogue before entry that you can reenter freely until your timer runs out, that is a lie. We all homepointed out and Seik was the only Jeuno HP, and she was told she had ten Vana'diel says left before reentry. This lined up with JP midnight. This is text error #2, closer to Dev Error than anything. "Once a day" isn't "every 24 hours," it's "Once a day after JP midnight."

End results were: One WAR hands, one PUP legs, ONE O.coin. Reports on BG were similar: Someone farmed up five pieces of relic in an hour and saw two coins.

Conversely, someone said they had a SMN demon lottery pop a SMN NM on them while in Xarc which dropped SMN horn and a 100cc on death.

The best shocks of the night come from BG. The first is what those pop items do: Someone said they had popped a Kindred that was a combination of two jobs, though I forget them at the moment. Spammed Perfect Dodge and something else. Once they got it to 75%, his defense went insane and a Vereth MNK, Kannagi NIN and Almace PLD were doing low double-digits to it. Enhanced movement speed, approximately 100k HP, resets to max HP like a WoW mob does (i.e., seconds after losing a hate list) and depops in 30 seconds. They managed to Terror the mob with a grellow proc. This ties into the last item of the night.

Someone blue procced with Drakesbane on a random Orc mob. He IMMEDIATELY got a huge defense bonus and dropped a coin on death. Could be coincidence on the drop, but the proc change combined with the Kindred testimony makes me wonder if
1)Proccing is the fastest way to get items, which is no surprise and
2)Proccing causes them to flip the fuck out to avoid being an easy farm.

We just don't know enough yet to rationalize much of anything, but the only solid information we have so far is this: Easily farmed and torn through, shitty coin rates. Should make for an interesting and amusing past-time, though. Dynamis is pretty easy to get into, I should drag my Paladin out to Windy and get cracking on that Bravura!

I kid.

Oh, something that IS interesting: Visions Empyrean NMs now drop +2 seals. Someone reported drops from Chloris, Glavoid and Briareus, as well as Lacovie. I wonder if I can shout for Briareus that way.
