I did some more battlegrounds tonight with Seik. I was worried after the shitty start this afternoon gave me but they went smooth enough. Hung out with Seik and Fe on vent and had fun. Something weird happened that I can't quite dismiss, though.
I was mining/running a single daily in between flags. Everything was so fast tonight, though, that I didn't get much of anything done until we suffered a pretty bad loss, so I took a break to do a simple quest for Crusade rep. It involves rescuing NPCs from a mine. You know the one, with the dat ass Vyr'kul in it.
There's a single quest in there, too. Big hulking monster guy gives it to you, you need to kill an elite with like, 80k HP to help him escape. I was minding my own, doing the quest to save other people from the mine when I see someone fighting the elite.
Being the Argent Champion I am in the horrific north, I run over to help. I pop my wings, I throw hammers, I help save the day. Of note is my health, which is about half. The mobs in the mine aren't a threat, dem hips can't slow me down so I usually just throw a free heal on myself when it procs and combat is over.
I run over to the next npc to try and save them, then suddenly a wolf leaps on my back. I turn around and get shot in the face. The person I helped (re: did) finish the quest for was a blood elf huntress. I was still flagged for PvP since I'd only been out of the battleground for a minute or so. She thought I would be easy picking, what with my biggest powers blown and being half dead.
I do not understand the Horde. I do understand hammers, though, so I killed her. I have lots of emergency buttons that I don't use unless I desperately need them. She learned this.
I go back to my questing.
A moment later, she's back in the cave. She is undergeared, probably leveling through the area and doing quests. I didn't wait to see if she learned her lesson. She was still flagged for PvP. She was in range. I grew fiery wings of wrath and I hammered her wolf, then her.
I went back to my quest.
I finished my leg of the quest without incident. On the way out, I saw her in the far corner of the cave, fighting an npc who refused to be rescued.
It's the saronite, you see. It drives all but the most stalwart mad, and even those with resolve succumb in time. I'm glad to be free of it.
She is fighting an enraged npc, far away from the territory I so clearly staked and lined with her blood. She is far away from being a threat, and in the middle of combat.
I showed her no mercy for a third time.
What I do not understand is this: Both members of the Argent Crusade, both working to rid Northrend of the scourge and the terrible wrath of its foul King, what would drive someone to attack who is supposed to be a comrade?
Must be the saronite.

Obviously I should work this in as canon and RP with it.
I logged from WoW after that and PL'd Fe and Aden in the dunes for an hour, hence my late getting to bed. I feel alright, though, and should be up on time. I better be, anyway.
Got some ideas for RB, too, but not really enough time to write it. Always tomorrow. Jesus, NaNo in less than a week.
