Thoughts and Rage

So. Who the hell agreed on Salvage drop rates? This isn't a yelling session about how rare they are or anything, I'm seriously wondering what the hell happened that it was okay to suddenly have those items exist.

They aren't the best pieces on the game, barring a very select few slots. Usu feet or body, Morrigan hands or legs (sort of, depending on gear/merits/etc), I'm pretty sure Marduk has some pieces worth mentioning. Or maybe not, Abyssea added some insane stuff for bard.

Look at this shit, though! Sky Gods and the like drop their gear pretty regularly. I know, I know, people complain about Wyrmal Legs and stuff but even a 20% droprate is significant.

Chains of Promathia added Sea as an event and even THOSE droprates are pretty considerable. Sea Torques aren't as rare as they sometimes seem to be, and even Limbus rates aren't horrid. Dynamis AF at least DROPS, even if THF hands are a myth. You at least get something for your trouble.

Then comes ToAU. Einherjar sort of has decentish droprates from what I understand; You're still rolling from a big pool of potential drops and are coming out with SOMETHING.

Abyssea "AF3" are currently at an alleged 20~% droprate, too. So what the hell was SE thinking when they decided a 2% droprate was acceptable? That's not even considering the finished piece; That still requires more potential farming of the 15 and 25. We fought for maybe two months to finally finish a pair of Morrigan's Slops, and while that's not par for the course, it WAS a bit ridiculous.

What IS ridiculous is Gate Widow, and Ramparts in general. A random chance to find a rare mob that drops (or "drops") a 35? Right. We've killed probably in the area of 3o Widows, not counting the other NM, and we've seen 0 Marduk Legs. We're rolling right about the 3% droprate, provided one drops to us ever.

It could be argued that Abjurations were also similar, given that they also need to be crafted. I'd still say those are a bit more lenient, though, given how easily those Abjurations are acquired now. I can't even counterargue that "That wasn't always the case, blah blah blah Kirin used to be hard" or anything, because Salvage has also since become a joke. The difference is Kirin was a hard fight with reasonable drop rates, and Salvage can be steamrolled 30 times in a row without a single piece of gear appearing. Salvage was never particularly hard, it just took patience. Sky and Jailers took a solid strategy but at least put out often enough to not need fifty runs to get something.

I hope SE rolls with the Abyssea/RotZ/CoP side of droprates and lets us get our gear without a year investment and millions of gil.
